I'm currently washing and spritzing every 1-1.5 weeks. My last all-over re-twist was over 3 months ago. My locs pretty much take care of themselves. I love it! Months 31-33 I'm 2.5 years into my locs. My, how time flies! They're growing steadily with no help from me. It'll be time to cut them shorter soon, I suppose. I don't want them to get too long because they'll become too hot & heavy. I think I'm waiting until the front gets a little longer. Months 28-30 I haven't touched my roots the past 5 months because I was on a free-form challenge in memory of Dreadlocs (still miss him) and then I was training for a triathlon (run, bike, swim) and it didn't make sense to retwist then turn around and jump in the water 2-3x a week. Now that the tri's over, I can FINALLY retwist these super fuzzy roots of mine. Can't wait! New York City (Oct 1, 2011) They say Rome is like New York on crack. I was anxious to make the comparison for myself. In October, I spent an AMAZING week there. It was so amazing, I considered moving! I could so be a New Yorker. This is the first time I've visited a US city for that length of time. (I'm usually in some other country.) It was sad to say I'd never really been to New York City, so I had to go. I must say it was much easier and relaxing "going local" in a US city. Not having to be concerned with a foreign language or currency was a huge load off. As for the comparison, I agree. NYC is tame in comparison. Months 25-27 GOD has blessed me to be able to travel extensively again. I spent 3 weeks in Italy and 1 week in Croatia. My hair LOVED the humidity of Croatia's coast. Locs not doing much but growing. Croatia I'd overheard a couple raving about Croatia while on the Metro in Italy, so I decided to hop over since it's right across the Adriatic Sea. It would take 9 hours by ferry. To prepare, I purchased a guidebook and downloaded basic Croatian language lessons onto my iPod. Months 22-24 Nappy New Year, All!! Yes, I've been lax in updating but it's because my locs don't do much. The only major change is length and taking daily or weekly pics won't show much progress.
