Press (Dec 6, 2008) After I take my current braids out which will be on March 9th, I will not touch heat for hopefully 6 months to try and revert this stuff. I do use a heating cap when I deep condition, but we will see what happens. Well my hair might be heat damaged and I wanted to know is there a way to revive my hair so it can revert back to my natural coarse curl instead of cutting it all of? The strange thing about it is that the heat damage is all around my head but it is not at the end or the root it is smack dab in the middle fof each strand of hair for about 3 inches. Is there any hope? Any advice? I have been transitioning for 2 years and I can not bear to think that I have to start all over again. 12/11/2007 I bought a maxiglide a while ago and did my sisters hair as well as mine. The results are good, I just need a little more practice. I pressed my hair and the length I am satisfied with so far on my journey (goal brastrap and beyond)but the thickness or better yet thinness I am not too encouraged about. Well in the next 4 months that is my goal to try and thicken up my hair, I will probably get a good trim in April which will be my next press probably professional for a wedding I will be in. I want thick hair but I guess, "if you have it you have it, if you don't you don't." Thank's all for looking and commenting. I will try the MN and Sulfur 8 mixture to try and get some super growth by April, wish me luck. 12/04/08 - I pressed my hair with the maxiglide. I took my sew-in out after having 3 installs since May. I am okay with my growth, but comparing my hair to others, I thought I would get a lot more. I prepood with Vatika Oil. I used CON shampoo, DPR 11, Motions CPR, Coconut Oil, EVOO, and sat under the dryer for 15 minutes. I then used Color Showers Honey, and have maybe a patch that I can see in the sun. It did give me a extremely light tint in the sun, but looking at Jennifer MD's photo, I was expecting more. I airdried with Aphogee Green Tea, Aphogee Pro-Vitamin, and Chi Silk Infusion, then blowdried. I flat ironed on 5.5 with my Maxiglide. I will not be flat ironing until maybe February. Hopefully I will continue to have growth with my hair out. For the past year, I have been in and out of braids and sew-in. I plan on wearing buns 90% of the time. Natural Hair First and Last so called Texturizer 11/2004. 03-10-2007 - Still trying to save those nasty ends for my buns but will definitely part ways soon. 01/2008 - Have seen growth since heat damage. Bought Boundless Tresses and aiming to double my monthly growth rate. In April I will be in a wedding so I am hoping for APL. I would like to gain a full 6 inches this year. Hopefully with BT it will be more. My goal is full bottom of BSL (hope that makes sense); if it goes beyond I will be very happy. Lets grow ladies!!! Sew-In I love sew-ins but getting them so often and leaving a portion out in the front has made that texture thin and very straight. I will definitely cut back for a good while. Wagman Deep Curly I upgraded to the good stuff. I LOVE IT!!!! I plan on keeping this hair (reinstalling twice ) )until the end of the year and will take a break from the weaves and braids. Little Sister (Feb 19, 2007) I love my little sister!!! My little sister is the best. She has beautiful, long, thick, 4a natural hair. 11/2007 I pressed Little Miss. Thang's hair for Thanksgiving with the maxiglide. Her hair makes my hair look like sh*t. Her hair is so beautiful, I wished I had the thickness and and curls that she does. While everyone around her is praising her hair she is nine and getting a little arrogant, have to humble her back down.
