- Well, time is just FLYING by. As of lately i've been extremely low maintenance. I rarely twist, and if I do it's usually just the first couple of rows. So I guess you can call me a "semi-freformer" for now.
I can't say that I currently have some detailed list of products and routines to follow along with. I wash my locs biweekly (if that ...yeah, i'm bad lol), and I wet them every morning and then seal the moisture in with EVOO (extra virgin olive oil). That's pretty much...it :-)

| | | - Evolving Daily: Months 4-8
- the progression of my locks in the somewhat adolescent/teen phase. My regimen has pretty much morphed into the T.I song..."whateva you like". Because I literally only do my hair whenever I feel like it. Since it's has been winter, my washes have decreased, but I try not to wait longer than 3-4 weeks. As for my products, I really only just spritz daily or every other day with my water & oil mix (sometimes extra virgin olive oil & sometimes Africa's Best Herbal oil), and when I don't use that, I use Oyin Handmade's Juice & Berries Leave in and seal that in with their Burnt Sugar Pomade. Oh, and as far as Jan/Feb goes, i've been wearing the HECK out of some tams/hats. It's an easy fix for days when I don't feel like doing much (which is pretty much everyday lol)
So far so good. My locks are progressing & looking more & more "lockish" everyday - Album was created 3 years 3 months ago and modified 2 years 11 months ago

| | | - My Caterpillars: The Beginning Of an Era (mon. 1-3)
- Ok, so I FINALLY started my babies or "caterpillars" as I like to call them, since I consider this stage of my life to be my "metaphorphosis" in more ways than one. I decided to start mine with two strands because...well...if you can't tell from my other hair albums, that's my specialty lol.
It usually takes me a couple of hours, but i spent an ENTIRE night working on these. Even though they are bigger than I usually do my twists, it took so long because I wanted to make sure the parts were uniform. I kept questioning if each piece was perfect enough, and even after I was done I kept battling over if I should start some of them over. Then I finally slapped myself (not really lol) and reminded myself that locs, and being napptural period, isn't about "perfection". It's about embracing individuality and accepting who you are. And i've come to the conclusion that each section, each part, and each loc is unique and imperfect and I am SO ok with that.
*update* 10/13/08 ...My regimen currently consists of washing once a week, rinsing after workouts, and daily oil/water/leave-in conditioner spritz. On 10/12/08 I did my first retwist using IC Fantasia Aloe Enriched Gel & I think it came out ok. My technique could use a little improvement, but so far i'm pretty pleased with the progress that my locs are making :-)
*update* 11/7/08...did my 2nd retwist. This time I used Organic Root Stimulator Loc & Twist Gel and a bit of honey, and I clipped the hair straight back instead of to the side. I must say that I LOVED the results. The honey gave me a great shine & hold. The downfall was the stickyness (ORS is VERY thick) during twisting & a case "hard hair" afterwards, but the following day I did a bit of spritzing and the hair softened up quite a bit. Next time i'll try the honey with IC & see what kind of consistency that yeilds...
*update* 12/12/08: Winter is here, so as of lately i've been upping the moisture factor w/daily spritz (I alternate between Juice & Berries w/a lil Burnt Sugar Pomade by Oyin and my homemade one). These days, I wash wheneva (maybe every 2 weeks or so). I also did a hot oil treatment with olive oil after my last wash (used baking soda rinse to clarify) & followed that up with Suave conditioner. That along with the honey from my retwists have kept the babies pretty soft. - Album was created 3 years 8 months ago and modified 3 years 3 months ago

| | | - My 1st Hair album. Summer 06'
- Some summer 06 looks
P.S. 06 did your girl wrong and gave me some kind of crazy skin irritation that came mysteriously and then just mysteriously left on it's own. But don't be alarmed. I didn't have chicken pox (been there done that in childhood) or some strange contagious Ebola type illness. All is now clear, all is well, and the devil was, is, and forever will be a liar :-) - Album was created 5 years 10 months ago and modified 3 years 3 months ago
