- (Nov 15, 2009)
- The Memorial Committee held a social event at Barnaby's today. The social was an all welcome to attend event, for a thank you to all that have helped get where we are today, and to disseminate information on further events to come. It was a good time, good food and good people. The Eagles game was on a large screen tv for all to watch, although not the best of games, everyone still had a good time. $10 got you in with all the food and liquid you could consume, well worth the money to eat, drink, watch football and shoot the breeze with many friends.

- (Oct 19, 2009)
- Union officials representing Chester City Firefighters and Fire Commissioner James Johnson reached a mutual agreement Monday and ended the conflict over the display of a decal of the American flag on a locker. A rally was held outside the fire house in support of Firefighter James Krapf before and during the meeting between the Union, Commissioner Johnson, City officials and Jim Krapf. Jim was suspended last week after he refused to remove an American flag decal from the front of his locker.
A directive, which required firefighters to remove all decorations off their lockers was ordered by Johnson after one of the department’s firefighters posted a cartoon that other members found offensive. A press conference was held in front of the staion following the meeting, announcing that Jim would be re-instated, and that flags would be allowed to be displayed in accordance with the U.S. Flag code in a newly written directive.
