- My battle with split ends:
for over the past couple of years i have done everything that i thought to believe was right in helping to promote healthy hair growth and retaining length. i keep my hair in protective styles the majority of the time and do my best to keep my ends moisturized. i take vitamins and have a pretty healthy diet. even still, i was getting breakage and split ends constantly. the only thing left that i could think of is that i've been using the wrong scissors to trim/cut.
i have changed my shears and am opting for a new regimine. even with cutting about 3-4 inches in the past year, in this album i can see that there's growth. i co-washed and straightened my hair with a blow drier and trimmed where necessary. this was a cleaner trim than when i first took down my yarn braids. i still see splits and well, not claiming manic, but i will stop what i'm doing and go and dust whenever several pop their head.
it seems that my hair likes being straightened (on low heat) it keeps my ends from tangling up and i am able to keep a good eye on my ends.
my next protective style is to bring back my bantu knots (january 2008) until June and then transition to a fresh set of yarn twists for my vacation with the hubby, then back to the bantus.

This is the year of God's favor! I declare that this is the year that all things that have been stored up in the storehouses will be released! There will be an abundance of rain and blessings. This is the year that maturity, wisdom, understanding, love and patience will be mine for the taking! I pray that there will not only be an overflow in my life but the lives of all of you!!!
