Naked Hair So today i just wanted to wash my hair and let it dry without any products on it. It's been a really, really, REALLY long time since I've seen my hair like this. The last time i did this was in jamaica (October 2007). My curl pattern was a lot tighter back then. I'll try to find a pic for you guys. I think my looser curl now is a result of the henna, but we'll see. I can't wait to see what it looks like when it dries. Hopefully nice and curly. I think that sometimes i may use too much pruduct, and as a result my hair doesn't "stand-up" anymore. It just hangs. It's probably both the henna and my heavy handedness. But I guess my main reason for wanting to see my hair w/o anything on it is because I'm beginning to think of styles I can wear on my honeymoon, and what to see what my hair looks like au natural. I want to do as little as possible to my hair when we're away. And I definitely dont want braids! Well hopefully this doesn't turn out looking a hot mess lol. Update: So yeah, it was definitely a mess lol. I won't be going w/o product anytime soon. The next day i just did my hair in fat 2 strand twists, and pinned them up in the back. I used a mixture of water, lotta body, aussie moist, and coconut oil on my hair while styling. i got this from curly nikki. i like it, my hair feels soft and is shiny so i may stick to this for a while. Nov 09-March 10 I been so lazy with picture taking and uploading, but I hope to change that. We'll see.... But anyway this album contains random photos of me from the past 5 months. I haven't really changed anything. Just still pushing towards my goal of wl hair. I think by the end of the year I will be close, but by the spring/summer 2011...I should really be there! Of course, thats if I stay away from heat, and continue my weekly deep conditionings. So, stay tuned...oh, I do plan to cut the front a tad. It's a little to even for my liking when I do occasionally wear it straight. If I do cut, I'll be sure to take pics. :-) A little info: the staright hair pics are from Christmas, I blowdried it February, and the most recent is the pic with me and the 3 other girls. That one is from mid march, and is a T-n-C :-) Love the T-n-C!!! June-October Hi Fotki Fam, I’ve been really bad with posting updates the last few months. Sorry about that. But my excuse is that a lot has been going on. But starting this month I’m getting back on it, and will update every month. No more slackin! I’ve been somewhat lazy with my hair too. I don’t remember the last time I henna’d and have only been doing deep conditions about every 3 weeks…bad. But, like I said, I’m back on it. I gotta get my hair to be really long (mbl/wl) by next summer/ my wedding day. So no more palying around. This hodge podge of an album will hopefully catch you up with whats been going on with my hair over the last 4-5 months. June 2009 Hey fotki fam :-), so after about 7 1/2 years my bf decided to FINALLY put a ring on it :-) So I've been busy plannin a wedding. But now that I've picked out a reception site, and will be home (no more field assignments) I'll get back on here more often. So many people have left so many nice comments about my hair. Thanks to everybody. :-) I'll be viewing your albums soon. But anyway, this album is composed of a bunch of pics from the end of may until now. I'm gonna do a henna and flexi rod set this weekend. End of May Straightening/Ends Clipped So it has been 5 months since I had straightened my hair, and I was ready to see what progress I had made. I'm pretty happy with my results. The stylist said that my ends looked great for it to have been 5 months since cutting them. She said the weekly DT's, biweekly hennas, and protective styling was paying off. She cut off about 1/2 inch. I think I may start going every 4 months. In case anyone is wondering, I went to Shi Salon in Stl, Marie Simone was my stylist. It was my first time going to her, and she did a great job. My hair is inbetween apl and bsl. Twist 5-19-09 I decided to do a twist out since my lack of patience ruined the wash and go I did yesterday. Before styling I used a mix of Pantene Deep Treatment Mask, and Elasta DPR for a depp conditioner. I left it on for about an hour. no heat. Then I just styled with my juices &berries, and sealed with shea. Trying something new....I usually always used deva one condish as a leave in first. My hair is dry now, and it feels good. Wash and Go 5-18-09 I'm not that great at taking pictures of myself, but I was anxious to try out my new camera, and get some current curly pics up. I'll get better ones when I'm back home. So, excuse the bad angles and lighting. But anyway, These pics just show my hair in a wash and go. I've got Hello Hydration on my hair. I detangled with it in the shower, and just let it stay in. I haven't done a wash and go in a while, so we'll see how this looks once it's dry. ***Update*** So, I got tired of waiting on my hair to dry, and just pulled it into a bun. It wasn't too hot looking so I didn't take pics. I'll have to try this again when I'm home and feel like waiting.
