Tahoma VA National Cemetary
(May 25, 2012)
Tahoma VA National Cemetery, Kent, WA I decided it would be fitting to sketch at the cemetery as both a tribute to and a meditation on our deceased military members on this Memorial Day weekend. In the 2.5 hours I was there, I heard the shots fired in salute and taps for 4 funerals. A volunteer at the main gate told me there were 17 funerals there today. He said that is not unusual for a Friday as the most funerals are on Fridays and Mondays.

Charon and more at MoF
(May 24, 2012)
Charon: "Blue Origin's first flying vehicle, Charon. Built as an early development project in 2005, Blue Origin has loaned the vertical take-off, vertical-landing jet-powered vehicle to the Museum. Charon will be on display in the new Charles Simonyi Space Gallery." Blue Origin is Jeff Bezos' other company (think Amazon.com).

Talbot Hill Sketch
(May 24, 2012)
A tiny park for a neighborhood of Renton, WA. The Coal car represents the mining history of the area. The irises were wonderful. I finally figured out today that the Noodler's Black ink does not dry well on this Moleskine watercolor paper. You may notice some smears. I tested it against drying time on Daniel Smith's "Fluid" watercolor paper. It dried almost instantly on DS but took several minutes on the Moleskine.

Air Force One lands
(May 10, 2012)
President Obama came to Seattle for fundraising. Air Force One almost always lands at Boeing field, adjacent to the Museum of Flight. Got photos of the landing from the museum parking lot

Piece of FFT
(Apr 19, 2012)
The first piece of the Full Fuselage [Shuttle] Trainer (FFT) was delivered to Seattle's Museum of Flight on 17 April! I volunteer there on Thursdays so took the opportunity to photograph and sketch it after my shift today. In the box is one of three engine bell mockups. Here is the news article: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2017999619_shuttletrainer18m.html

Also took some photos of a Boeing 737-924(ER) as it was towed into place for a special event at the Museum.

Glow in the Machine
(May 6, 2012)
Wolf's desktop computer was open. I noticed the glowing lights and it inspired me to make some "avant weird" (his characterization) images.
