- It was a foggy morning when we left Canyon Country and headed for Vasquez Rocks, but the sun was out by the time we got there. We decided to head into an area of the park where we had never hiked and found some great views.

- Took Hiker for a morning hike over in Whitney Canyon. The canyon is beautiful in the morning, this time of year. Even without us having much rain, everything is so green. I love this canyon because it has such pretty oak groves and so many nice grassy meadows. Did not go all the way to the waterfall because there is no need to when there's no water in the canyon. We've had a little rain this winter, but not enough for the creek to run. We hiked in a little over a mile and then back to the car so we did almost 2.5 miles.

- Hiker and I started out for a hike in Whitney Canyon but there were so many people there we could not find a place to park. We went over to Towsley Canyon which was also crowded but we found a parking space. Originally planned on doing only about a mile and a half but ended up doing three miles.

- The past few days have been so nice that it would be a shame to stay inside and not get out in the sun and nature. Took Hiker over to Placerita Canyon where we wandered around on some of the trails.

- It was 55 deg. at the house when Hiker and I headed up to Vasquez Rocks but when we got there, it was 48 deg. and very cold and very windy. We did just under a 1.5 mile hike around the park.

- After lunch I loaded Hiker into the car and we headed over to Whitney Canyon for a short 2 mile hike. I had not been in Whitney Canyon since just before Ben went into the hospital 2 years ago so it was nice to have some different scenery for a change. Hiker had never been to Whitney Canyon so she had a lot of new smells to check out. Did not go all the way up to the waterfall. Since the creek along the trail was dry, I'm sure there was no water up there anyway.
