He liked the look, but did not like the fact that his hair would only look fresh for a short period of time. I offered to tighten his hair "Brotherlocks Style" to see if he would like the result and HE DID! Mr. J has had his locks for approximately 2 years. Ms. IS (Nov 22, 2009) Ms. IS contacted me early in the year inquiring about Sisterlocks, after being referred to me by her nephew, who just so happened to be a friend of "Ms B." After several months of allowing her hair to grow out, we set an install date. Ms. IS' hair was 4 inches long. She also colored her hair prior to her installation. Her installation was done in one sitting, lasting about 15 hours. Ms. TE (Oct 11, 2009) Ms. TE found my name on the Sisterlocks website and contacted me via email. Shortly thereafter, she was scheduled in the books for a consultation and an installation date. Ms. TE has 1 1/2 inches of natural hair and about 4-5 inches of relaxed hair. Her install lasted 17 hours total. Ms. LL (Sep 25, 2009) Ms. LL found my name on the Sisterlocks website and contacted me via email to have her first retightening done. Her locks had been installed over a course of two months beginning in July ending in September with some of her locks having to be taken down and redone for corrective purposes. She endured great pain during the install and was afraid her retightening would feel the same way, but thankfully, she did not experience any. :-) Her hair is over a foot long in most places and she had plenty of slippage in the back where her previous Sisterlocks Consultant/Trainee began installing her locks back in July. I did her retightening over the course of 2 evenings totaling approximately 10 hours on September 23rd and September 25th. Ms. L (Sep 13, 2009) When Ms. L called me, she mentioned that she met a woman with Sisterlocks on the bus and she given her my number. Of course I was curious to know who, and when she told me, I was floored. The lady on the bus had seen my fotki album and we had also corresponded via email, but I have never so much as met her and she was sweet enough to recommend me. The power of the internet is amazing. Ms. L has 5 inches of natural hair with some lingering relaxer on her ends in various spots. Because the amount of relaxer was so small and hard to detect, I locked it down to the ends. The install began on Saturday, September 12th and ended on Sunday, September 13th for a total of 21 hours and it seemed to fly! Good company and good conversation made for a very pleasant and enjoyable installation session. Ms. L had serious concerns about some thin spots in top of her head, as well as a birthmark at the back her head that has a small bald spot. The locks have covered these areas beautifully and they are not discernable. As you can see from her beautiful smile, she is very happy with her hair! Miss A (Jun 21, 2009) Meet my first young client, Miss A. She is the 12 year-old daughter of my dear friend of 17 years. Miss A decided that she wanted her hair in Sisterlocks after seeing mine as well as some encouragement from her mother, and viewing pictures of other young girls who have embarked on their own Sisterlocks journey. Miss A began with 1 1/2 inches of new growth and about 7 inches of relaxed hair with some broken off hair around front and back edges. She sat and sat and sat patiently for 20 hours as she had her locks installed without one complaint. Miss A's locks are installed small due to her young age and her growing head and body. Ms. S. (Jun 14, 2009) Ms. S contacted me for a Sisterlocks consultation having already paid for 2 other consultations with other Sisterlocks representatives and decided to allow me to install her locks. When she came for her consultation, she had 12 inches of beautiful, all natural hair after having taken down a set of traditional locks that she was unhappy with. After we spoke about her wishes, I encouraged her to get a trim to cut off the straggly ends. Ms. S decided to have her hair not only trimmed but cut into a bob. Ms. S wished to have larger Sisterlocks. Ms. S arrived for her installation at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 13th. I installed her last lock at about 2:30 a.m. According to her wishes, Ms. S has medium locks in the front and large locks in the back. Ms. G (Jun 3, 2009) Ms. G began her Sisterlocks(tm) journey on April 17, 2009 with relaxed ends and about 1/2 inch of new growth and she contacted me with various concerns. She was not pleased with the appearance of her locks, or the condition and was worried that she may need to start over. Ms. G was so frustrated that she had even scheduled an appointment to have a sew-in weave placed over her locks! After my assessment of the condition of her locks, I determined that her locks were not as bad off as she has thought and advised her NOT to do the sew-in, as it would ruin her fragile locks. Amazingly, she still had sections considering the very, very short length of her hair. I repaired and retightened her hair for a total of 7 hours on the evenings of June 2nd and 3rd. Ms. G is very pleased with her before and after results. She is on a 4 week retightening schedule for the time being.
