1/29/09: Well, I haven't updated in ages, but here's a few. I am so busy with family, school, and home, that I really haven't had time to keep up. I don't really do much, just try to wash between 1 & 2 times a week, twist when I can and try new things. - Just some updates. It's been good thus far. I find that I am lazy about twisting and/or braiding my hair, so I opt for the wash and go look (the "I washed my hair and didn't comb it" look). I actually like it, very low maintenance. I can cornrow my hair back in medium rows now, so that's my proof of growth.

- Okay yall, I like the idea of dedicating a folder to questions and suggestions.....So here it goes!
Okay, so I've been tanzin' since January and hadn't had a perm since November 07, so I've had my BC and don't know what to do. I didn't do a traditional BC (wash hair and cut while wet), but I was putting in some twists as I cut along the way. So the twists are out, it's Sunday--I have school tomorrow--and my fro is all sorts of lengths. I was prepared for this journey in theory, but psychologically, I don't think I'm there. Don't worry, I'm not debating whether or not to get a perm, I'm over that hump, it's just being brave about taking that next step...."The Coming Out" phase. I've been telling friends and family and of course I've gotten mixed opinions about it. I've got it so bad, I'm a little shy about posting my "BC pics". Any encouragement, suggestions, advice, or all of the above will be greatly appreciated!!!
UPDATE: Okay, well, I prayed about it over night ( I know that sounds corny, but it was effective), woke up with a new attitude out of nowhere and just co-washed my hair and let my hair do what it did. I was confident about it too. Everyone had they fingers all in it, so I think it was pretty good. If anyone had anything negative to say, it wasn't around me. - These pics will show the condition of my hair while in transition. They will also document my "creativity" while trying to maintain the "LYE" while it is on my head. :0)

UPDATE: Put in braids for the rest of Feb. Wanted them to last at least a month, but I'm not going to make it. I started to put them in and when I got to the top, the cap (the thickest part of my hair) had build-up. I know, it sounds disgusting, but I had to finish. Furthermore, it is itching like HELL, so they may last one more week before I have to take them out.

3/3/08- Okay, well, I don't know what it was (maybe the extra time on my hands from spring break), but I was playing in my hair and was suddenly overwhelmed by the 2 textures. So what do I do, CUT like 5-8 inches off my hair. I left just enough to cornrow, but I really can't do anything else.
