- 2010 was a year of trying to grow back my hair after a big haircut (from shoulder-blade length stretched to TWA) in August 2009. This was also the first year I had my hair blown out and flat-ironed, which I believe made my hair more fragile and prone to breakage, despite the fact that it was done by a pro.

| | - Aug-Oct 2008 (8-10 mo post chop)...and a haircut!
- Hi everybody! I was on a looong hiatus, which started as soon as I went back to grad school... but it didn't stop me from having fun with my hair. In September I felt like my 3c hair on the back and sides was growing faster than the kinkier 4a hair on my crown. I realize it's probably really the same length, but the shag was just not the look I was going for (lol).
In September I visited one of my fave stylists, Krika, owner of the all-natural Sophia Sunflower Salon in Raleigh. The result is that I have about three inches at the nape of my neck which gradually turns to six inches or so at the top and front... i LOVE this cut! My goal was to have a style similar to the writer of the blog "Fly" (a must see for you design fans) -- flygirls.typepad.com. - This album illustrates five years of loc progression. Unfortunately I don't have pics of the baby comb twists which started the loc process. If I find some I will certainly upload them.
