Paint: White main frame with silver rear swing arm.
The story: One of the earliest full-suspension designs. This frameset was found at a flea market with the Scott LF fork and XTR front derailleur. The paint was originally white and silver. The paint flaked off badly and it was evident that primer was not applied before it's final painting. It's not known how many CSTs survive. I have two and there is one floating around. The $1800 price with the Suntour XC Pro group in 1990 was pretty steep and the large recall of the Scott LF forks might mean these bikes are pretty rare.
The paint was stripped with a plan to repaint the bike in it's White and Silver scheme but I also like the bare metal finish.
The ride: Despite the CSTs 29 pound weight the bike climbs smoothly and there is little to no pedal feedback when climbing and sprinting. I expected some side to side slop from the rear swing arm but the design is solid. - No comments
