- More macro shots of tiny flowers found growing among the grass in Paeroa. Not all shots are 100% sharp, this is due to it being very difficult to focus when the viewfinder is so dim. I pre-set the f-stop to about f/16 before mounting the lens in reverse. This gives at least some depth of field at these magnifications, but at the expense of a very dim view finder and longer shutter times or grainier pictures if I use a higher ISO.

- Macro photographs of tiny flowers found growing among grass. Many people walk over these tiny delicate flowers without even realising they're there. Some are so small they're hard to spot unless you're crouching right down. They're quite beautiful little things, full of details, made visible by getting my camera right in close.
So how tiny are these flowers? Photo 20091024_171 includes the tip of my finger for a size comparison.
These photos were taken with a lens reversing ring I recently purchased. It's quite a challenge shooting these flowers. I have to pre-set the aperture to something like f-11 to f-22 (which darkens the view-finder considerably, but provides precious depth of field) and making changes to the lens' zoom setting is fiddly in the reversed position. The exposure often requires a fairly long shutter speed, so motion blur becomes a problem, holding the camera still for 1/15th of a second and hoping that the wind won't pick up. Lastly, focusing becomes a matter of easing the camera away from or toward the subject and deciding on the best place(s) to focus on. Getting that focus accurate is then made difficult because the view finder is so dim. But these are the result from a recent expedition. Many shots failed, but these are the ones that came out alright. - 14 comments

| | (c) Amazing Images Photography | - Glitter shoot with Bebot
- This shoot involved a model covered with rhinestones and glitter stars, posed among miniature disco glitter balls suspended from the ceiling, and shooting with a starburst filter attachment to make all the bright points of light show up as 'stars' with rays of light emanating from them.
