- I am giving my hair a rest this fall and winter with braids. I am wearing the water wave style. The curls are corkscrew shaped and mimics the texture of coily, kinky hair. It's huge! I love the way it turned out :)

- The best thing about having natural hair is that the possibilities are truly endless. I'm jet black and straight now. Boredom set in and I needed to switch things up! For those of you interested in how I achieved this look:
I dyed my hair blue-black.
I used a ceramic flat iron by Jilbere (Sally's) to straighten.
I used Paul Mitchell's foaming pomade on each section as I flat ironed for a straight and shiny finish.
I cut a TON of hair off..but hey, it's just hair..and if you aren't having fun with it, then what's the point??

- I have been very scissor-happy this month. I don't care much about length, I just want fabulous hair that I can manage at home :)

- I have decided to take the braids out and unleash the 'do. It has grown quite a bit over the last few months and I was very surprised at the length. Overall, the braids have been great for growing my hair out. Now, it is time for me to get reacquainted with my hair. I have to say that the last few days have been interesting wearing big hair again and watching the looks on people's faces when they see me. Oh well, it's all apart of the journey. This is me.

- I have been rocking braids to give my hair a rest and let it grow. I've pretty much had the same style--black wet 'n' wavy just to keep things simple. Maybe I'll switch up the color soon to add a little excitement.
