I stopped updating April 2010, but I didn't stop taking pictures. Quite a bit happened with my hair during the one year time period from May 2010 to May 2011. Summer 2011
Here are a few random pictures from my super short haircut summer. I really wasn't growing my hair out over the summer and just kept it short. October '11 thru January '12 Months 0-3
This album starts my third and hopefully FINAL natural hair journey. :o) I cut my hair in May 2011, but I was not really growing it back out through the summer. I just kept it super short, and I was not sure if I even wanted to grow it out again. I really considered just keeping a super short, Amber Rose type hair cut. I did throughout the summer, but I really miss my hair. I loved the versatility of it. I liked doing twists, coils, braids, braid outs, wash-n-gos, etc. I miss it dearly. I miss my fro. I wish that I did not heat damage my hair so bad during my second natural journey and then allow someone to give me a jacked up haircut. I certainly wish that I never got that curly perm during my first natural journey. I hate to think about what my hair could be like had I just been able to continue through that first natural journey. Oh well, what is done is done. It is time to start fresh again and maintain for the future of my hair while trying not to dwell on the past. Yet, I hope that I have learned from my mistakes... Lessons learned: no chemicals whatsoever, as little heat as possible, and no straightening...parts of my hair just don't always curl back up again after straightening. April (Month 17)
Heeeeey Ladies! Spring is in the air and so is the pollen! Happy Birthday to my little man. He'll be turning 5 this month. Time is flying. Thank you all so much for all the comments, compliments and support as I continue my recovery from the hair mishap that happened at the end of my last journey. March (Month 16)
Happy March and St. Patty's Day, Everybody! I'm really looking forward to a change in the weather. I hope that Spring comes sooner, rather than later. Me and my hair are ready for some warm weather! Not just that, but we just bought my dream car! Yay, I got my convertible Volkswagen Beetle this month. I've always wanted one and we saw the perfect one for me then got it! It worked out perfect because I wanted it by the Spring. January (month 14)
Happy New Year Everybody! I am excited to watch my hair grow, thrive and transform all over again in 2010 like it did for the 2nd year of my other natural journey back in 2008! I'm starting this year with protective styling. My goal is to protective style all the way through the year as much as I can.
