- Hey y'all! Not much going on. I wore those last twists for about 3 weeks. This time I sprayed them each week with a 50/50 mix of oil and water and ended up with some serious tangling during the takedown. So I'm probably not going to wet my twists again.
For the past month, I've had my hair in big chunky braids and I've been doing half wigs when I go out. I might put in a new set of twists around May 20.
My hair is doing great. When not in twists, my hair is loving my 50/50 olive oil and water spray. As a leave-in condish after I wash I use Creme of Nature lemongrass and Rosemary creamy leave-in and my hair is loving it. It feels nice and soft after it dries. Still deep condition overnight on dry hair once a week with any conditioner i have lying around mixed with some olive oil. Lately, I've been using Lustrasilk Organic Cholesterol. I'm about to try Aussie Moist net.
Still doing search and destroy, Still finding knots and split ends, but I've gotten rid of a lot of them without losing length. Yay!
This month I will try my first rollerset on natural hair. I'm very interested to see how my texture will respond.

- A new set of twists. I stopped doing length checks since it's taking forever for all my hair to reach APL but I can tell my hair is growing with each set of twists I put in.
I have split ends though. i've been doing search and destroy but i may have to chop about an inch to get rid of them all. - 78 comments

- put these mini twits in on Jan 10. It took me 8-10 hours with breaks.
I told myself I wouldn't do them again, but i looooove how they look! I'm going to try to see how i can minimize the tangling and matting i seem to experience after the 1st week. my goal is to keep these in for at least 3 weeks hopefully 4
****UPDATE Feb 1st**** I made it to 3 weeks with the twists. A milestone for me! Banding and moisturizing the ends kept tangling and matting to a minimum. I'll probably put in another set of twists this weekend. - 112 comments

- I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaack! Thanks for all the love while I was away ladies! I've been checking a lot of you out and y'all are looking good!
Yes siree I had me a baby while I was away! Thankfully no c-section but I had to be induced due to preeclampsia...so my little angel was born 15 days early...5 lbs 10 oz, healthy and beautiful praise the Lord! I chose not to have an epidural but oh my goodness I know why women do! Labor pains are no joke! This was my first so I have no point of reference but I heard the contractions are worse when they give you pitocin and mine were almost unbearable!
Here are some pics of what's been going on with my hair since last year. I pretty much wore twists and twist outs and kept my hair wrapped up.
Regimen's the same. DC once a week. Cowash randomly in between. Shampoo whenever I have lots of buildup...usually every 2 months. Protective style constantly...either chunky braids or twists - 114 comments

- Wow! This is the start of my third year of healthy hair maintenance! I had a few setbacks last year - the major one being heat damage from pressing my hair with a hot comb repeatedly in one sitting. I had to cut over 3 inches of hair - which was all the growth I had gotten from my first year. :-( Oh well. It grew back so it's all good. I think my curls are still a little flat, but I'm not chopping anymore. As it grows out, the curliness will return. I didn't flat iron this year and I probably won't be doing it for awhile. If I don't do it this winter, then maybe next. There's absolutely no point for me to flat iron in the summer. And my hair still needs to recuperate. This time away from heat has served me well. :-) If I want straight hair, I'll just wear a wig. It feels great to have the versatility without damaging my hair.
