- Hair retention difficult with the 4b hair type. After four years I would have thought I would show dramatic growth, not so. There have been some setbacks, and some times when I wanted to cut if all off. I still haven't got any styling ability and at my advanced age, this is starting to wear on me. I will try to develope a sophisticated style this year and stick with it. Jeve

| | | - 3rd Year Natural
- (Aug 1, 2007)
- This is the first day of my third year natural. Best thing about being natural, clean good smelling hair any and all the time. Regular growth of hair.
Bad things about being natural, some of the slick styles not able to achieve. But overall good outweigh bad - Album was created 4 years 10 months ago and modified 4 years 4 months ago

| | | - second year hair care
- Trials and tribulations of second year natural hair care. My official beginning of second year is 8-1-2006. Some previous pictures were moved to reflect this. Longer hair, more work. Family starting to notice and ask advice on hair care.

| | | - One year natural
- (Feb 19, 2006)
- First digital camera, documenting status of hair, approximately one year, no straightening. Found some old pics, first twist out and cessation of heat was late July 2005. So that will be my anniversary date. Prior to that I had shoulder length hair that I damaged with heat. It was cut to chin length. It was difficult to maintain a straightened chin length hair but I didn't want to go back to goddess braids with extensions. So I went to my stylist and said do anything, but make it natural. She came up with twists. As they grew I cut out my permanently straightened ends and later learned to care for my own hair with the help of these fokti sites. Thanks all.
