05/30/2012 Kolob Reservoir and Zion National Park, Virgin, Utah
(May 30, 2012)
These photos were taken at Kolob Reservoir and from the Kolob Terrace Road in Zion National Park north of Virgin, Utah. The majestic views from some of the homes in this area on the fringe of the park are amazing to say the least. This album has been completed and no more photos will be added.

11/18/2005 Kolob Arch
(Nov 18, 2005)
This day I decided to hike further down the Timber Creek Trail to the La Verkin Creek Trail and up the short Kolob Arch Trail to the Arch. This tiring 13-mile round trip hike took me all day but was satisfying in that I was finally able to see Kolob Arch. The distance to the Hop Valley Trailhead on Kolob Terrace Road on a through trip was the same but I was not able to arrange for another car on the other end so I backtracked the way I had come. I have yet to do the remainder of that route (the Hop Valley Trail) but when I do, the resulting photos will be in the Kolob Terrace Road entrance folder. This album has been revised on 05/27/2012 and no more photos will be added.

I discovered that these photos had never been uploaded into an album so even though they are rather old I decided to add an album which now has been completed and no more photos will be added.

11/12/2005 Pipe Spring National Monument, Fredonia, Arizona
(Nov 12, 2005)
This area was called the "Cattle Mission" or "Arizona Strip". Mormon pioneers settled this area along with their move into Utah but when statehood was granted the area went to Arizona which became a state much later in 1912. This operating ranch area is where livestock that were tithe offerings to the L.D.S. Church were kept and meat and dairy products were made for sale to markets and some returned to needy families within the church. Workers at the mission were settlers who volunteered their time and labor to do whatever needed to be done from herding cattle on the range to milking cows and making cheese at Pipe Spring. This album has been completed and no more photos will be added.

(May 5, 2012)
It had been a long time since my last session with a gopher snake so I took advantage of this opportunity to photograph one of these beautiful animals. This album has been completed and no more photos will be added.

11/08/2005 Upper Timber Creek
(Nov 8, 2005)
I spent this day further up the Upper timber Creek Canyon. It started out poorly when I dropped my camera and case in the creek. I got it out as quickly as possible. The bag had filled with water in that short time but I immediately got the camera out and opened up the battery compartment and the memory card slot. I removed the memory card and wiped off the contacts, dumped the batteries and dried that compartment. The air was dry so I let the camers sit for about 1/2 hour and decided to try it. After some nervous re-assembly I powered up and it worked. It had not been in the water long enough to soak into the works of the camera. This Konica Minolta S2 3.1 MP camera did not fail me even after this mal-treatment. Sigh of relief! This album has been revised somewhat on May 4, 2012, is complete, and no more photos will be added.

(Nov 2, 2005)
I spent this day hiking off-trail into the Upper Timber Creek Canyon. It was a strenuous day but there is some beautiful country back here. I didn't get as far up as I would have liked so I decided to come back another day. This album was updated April 30, 2012, has been completed and no more photos will be added.
