04/08/2014 Babylon Road Area of Red Cliffs Desert Reserve, Leeds, Utah
(Apr 8, 2014)
Getting in to this area is less of a problem with our F-150 4WD. Being able to drive on the sandy roads shortens the walk considerably. The beauty remains the same. This album has been completed and no more photos will be added.

03/29/2014 Upper Antelope Slot Canyon, Page, Arizona
(Mar 29, 2014)
We had wanted to visit this icon of the Southwest for a number of years so Beth checked into taking a tour. We made no reservations ahead of time. Upon arrival we found that there would be a wait to get a tour when suddenly there was a cancellation and we grabbed it immediately. There were only five of us plus our Navajo driver/guide, Deborah. Instead of having to ride in the back of a truck we comfortably rode in a nice van to the Upper Antelope Canyon entrance. She led an excellent tour and in spite of the many people going into and out of the canyon with different tours we found plenty of time to take photos and learn about the formation of this slot canyon. We enjoyed this well-managed tour very much and will return to visit the Lower Antelope Canyon in the near future. This album has been completed and no more photos will be added.

03/18/2014 SR-9 Through Zion National Park, Utah
(Mar 18, 2014)
No trip to the east of us is complete without driving through this beautiful piece of nature protected as Zion National Park. Today's entry was enjoyable as always but a bit more interesting because of the Bighorn Sheep we were able to photograph. This album has been completed and no more photos will be added.

05/25/2006 North Rim, Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona
(May 25, 2006)
This part of Grand Canyon National Park is closest to our home. The north rim is higher than the south rim and the road is closed in wintertime by snow. Good photography is more difficult because many of the views are in a southerly direction into the sun. The time of day is very important in the photographing of any particular area. It is a beautiful place to visit and well worth the time and effort to get there. This album has been completed and no more photos will be added. This album has been updated as of 03/21/2014.

01/26/2014 Springdale and the Entrance to Zion National Park, Utah
(Jan 26, 2014)
Springdale in a town at the south entrance to Zion National Park. We normally travel through to the entrance toll booths and pay very little attention to this touristy town. This time we stopped and spent a delightful mid-day to evening there. I had eaten at Cafe Oscar Grill and Deli on every available occasion. We took advantage of this opportunity to eat a late lunch there. While I was tempted to order my usual "Murder Burger" we decided to share a different one this time, the "Whupass Burger". All burgers are garlic-flavored and accompanying them with sweet potato fries and copious amounts of diet Coke is a simple culinary delight. We did our part for the local economy at a tourist shop on SR-9 buying a Fimo Creation sculpted by Jon Stuart Anderson. The late afternoon visit to the Zion National Park Visitors Center via the Springdale footbridge over the North Fork Virgin River topped off the day. This album has been completed and no more photos will be added.

01/19/2014 North Fork Virgin River, Zion National Park, Utah
(Jan 19, 2014)
It was a beautiful day in January and we decided to take a take a lunch and visit the main tourist route. During the winter months (November-March) the shuttle buses do not run so visitors may use their own transportation to visit. There are fewer visitors by far and I think the local people are more apt to visit during this off-season. This album has been completed and no more photos will be added.
