- Since the start of the year I have been back to my raw foods! Trying for 100% each day, but even 80% is pretty good. I will try and post pics when I try new things. Also, I will post more in my How-To folder.

Get your mind right, as well as your body!!
Tips for your new LIFEstyle:
1. Journal it! And I'm not just talking about your calorie intake. That would be too easy people. Hello? Didn't you just hear me say LIFE style? Your LIFE is about more than food, so journal everything. Your feelings, emotions, your family, work, the dog, the cat, put it all out there. Change your LIVES!!
2. Eat this, or eat that? It's all about CHOICES. Sure that McCrappy burger and fries might taste yummy (no, it really doesn't), but there are better alternatives. Try a turkey burger abd baked fries. Or if you're like me, a VEGGIE burger!
3. 30 minutes a day and you're done. Yes, that's what I said. It's the base minimum cardio you need to enjoy a healthy lifestyle. Do that, keep weight gain at bay. Do more, drop more pounds.
4. 2 days a week, strength train. Don't be afraid of the weights. They are your friends. With just 10 basic exercises, you can workout all the major muscle groups. Start light and work your way up. Do one set of 12-15 and progress to 2 sets.
5. Switch it up! Every 4-6 weeks you should change your workout routine to avoid any plateaus. Hey, they happen to the best of us. So you like walking, well add some inclines or hills. Tae Bo is your thing, well try Turbo Jam. Same with strength training, try different moves to work the same muscle group.
6. Have a plan, set some goals. This is referencing not just your weight loss, but all your LIFE goals. If you want to go back to school, GO! If you dreamed of vacationing in Paris, book the plane ticket. If you want to be a published author, do whatever it takes to make it happen (uh, this one is directed at myself). If you want to weigh XYZ, jump on it and finish the job!
7. Flex! Flexibilty, as well as cardio and strength training, is important as well. Stretch before and after each workout, preferably during a 5-10 minute warmup and 5-10 minute cool down.
8. Live your LIFE! Okay, easy right? Don't make weight loss the only thing you have going on in your LIFE. Don't miss out on enjoying yourself. One bad meal does not ruin your LIFE. Go out and party with your friends. Enjoy your holiday meal without stressing about the calories. Moderation is the key.

- Many people list celebs as their natural hair inspiration, but mine is my daughter. She has beautiful, thick, natural hair that I love to try my new styles on. It is long and at the length I would one day like my hair to be. She's only 4 years old but is in love with her hair also, and thinks she's a model, so I had to start her a hair album too.
When I first told her I was cutting all my hair off, she said I was going to look like a boy. She has short hair phobia already and thinks short hair is not cute (everyone in my family has long hair, even my brothers). But when she first saw my short hair after the BC, she actually said it was cute and that brought tears to my eyes. - This album I promise to have more updates and more pics! My hair is starting to bud and I like it! They still look like braids and I think that will be the case even after one year. I don't care! They can stay like braids forever. Permanent braids I never have to take down, and can still tighten, I'm with that.

| | | - Vegetarian, Vegan and raw foods
- I'm transitioning from eating vegetarian to vegan, and also high raw.
Starting Feb 1, 2010 I will be going on a 28-Day Raw Food Challenge. I'm excited about it. I really enjoyed it when I went raw for about two weeks last year. I am heavily researching this and have a ton of books to go through. I hope to post some of my more interesting creations here.
Still eating raw! Love it and will continue learning how to stay raw. I hope to take a course to become a raw food specialist soon.
