| | What's new on Templesofgrey's "Photo Albums" pages Recently created and updated albums: | copyright: temples of grey | - miscellaneous - may move these around later
- NEWest PHOTOS are posted at the end. 1. Hale Dixon (photos 1-9) opened a show at The Cave in Chapel Hill, 2/28/07, and stood ground without blinking, as best I could tell. (I arrived from an earlier show elsewhere, and had just begun snapping a few shots as they were finishing the last song of their part of the show.) These are not quality shots at all. But if you, like me, wanted to see what the group looks like, this will help. UPDATE: John Dixon expanded his group and changed his Hale Dixon group's name in Spring 2007 to TEN PENNY. Music and info at www.myspace.com/tenpennymusic .
2. Miscellaneous -photos 10 and beyond. Includes Alex and Nikos of Calico Haunts, Starting Tuesday's Scott Cash, The Honored Guests, Jon Mackie, Jenks Miller, Scott Endres, Nate Osborne, Shakermaker, etc. 10/07 -adding 4 from August 06 Vibrant Green show at Local 506 (www.myspace.com/VibrantGreen).
If you want to post a photo, great! Please, though, include the copyright credit. - 181 photo(s) (249 MB)

| | copyright: temples of grey | - TROIKA: ...Dynamite Brothers, ...Rat Jackson, ...The Loners, & ...The Love Language
- (Nov 8, 2009)
- Saturday night, Troika Festival, at Broad Street Cafe, Durham NC. Great music! The play order was Dynamite Brothers (http://www.myspace.com/dynamitebrothers), Rat Jackson (http://www.myspace.com/ratjacksonmusic), The Loners (http://www.churchkeyrecords.com/artists/loners), and The Love Language (http://www.myspace.com/thelovelanguage). Three bands are from Chapel Hill, and The Loners are from Raleigh. Durham was the host city for this event, and several outstanding Durham groups played, proudly representing their city.
I recommend viewing in SLIDESHOW MODE; you can set the time interval as you like. Also, there are some I shot with another camera at the end. So those few begin the sequence of bands again.
As always, if you'd like to post any photos on your myspace, facebook, or reverbnation pages, please include a photo credit &/or copyright WITH EACH PHOTO, immediately upon posting. That way, if anyone else wants to snag or use, both you and they will know who owns the photo and whom to contact to request use. Thanks, and I hope you enjoy these! - 357 photo(s) (464 MB)

- (Oct 28, 2009)
- Lost in the Trees, in Gerrard Hall, UNC-CH campus, 10/28/09. -Stellar evening of music, in one of the most beautiful, historic, campus buildings.
NOTE: There are TWO SETS of photos, shot with different cameras. So somewhere in the midst of the total group, photos from a 2nd camera will start the evening again. It's deja vu but with new photos!
As always, if you'd like to post any photos on your myspace, facebook, or reverbnation pages, please include a photo credit &/or copyright WITH EACH PHOTO, immediately upon posting. - (Oct 5, 2009)
- Open Mic at Jack Sprat Café, Monday nights now. This was from October 5, 2009.
I shot with 2 different cameras, and the photos are uploading in 2 different groups. In other words, if you're looking for someone in a particular play order, they're likely to come up twice. ...Or three times, because some of the earlier performers stuck around to play again at the end of the evening.
I missed the first two performers, but the rest were: Johnny D., Tad Dreis, Chris Hendricks, featured performer Patrick Phelan with Rob DiMauro (percussion), Daniel Roubey, John Laible, Paul House, Jordan Seal & Ryan Splain, Spencer Brisson, Rafael Green, Chris B...x (couldn't read surname), and Bobby & Tristan.
As always, if you'd like to post any photos on your pages (myspace, facebook, reverbnation), please include a photo credit &/or copyright WITH EACH PHOTO, immediately upon posting. That way, if anyone else wants to snag or use, both you and they will know who owns the photo and whom to contact to request use.
Check out open mic most Mondays! Come play, read poetry, dance, paint -what ever talents you want to present (95% is music). Clink http://www.myspace.com/jackspratcafeandbar for a schedule of really good upcoming shows . - 336 photo(s) (408 MB)

| | copyright: temples of grey | - Josh Drye Band, at Chapel Hill's NIGHTLIGHT
- (Oct 2, 2009)
- Josh Drye Band is a new group in Chapel Hill, and began playing shows in August 2009. Previously I'd seen Josh Drye at Jack Sprat Cafe's open mic night, along with friend Wylie Hunter, where they each began honing their art publicly. Josh's band stretches into previously unexplored areas from mainstream rock. When they were once billed as "Vaudeville rock", I had to nod at the apt categorization; they fit that description as well as any other. As far as the band's name, I'm not sure which if any of the current names will stick. This show was billed as "Josh Drye and The Slightly Moist" (drye, moist). Usually I've seen "Josh Drye and The Revolution", though I think I've come across a 3rd name as well. Currently he has no website I can publicly pin down. If you were desperate to contact him, maybe try his friend's page at http://www.myspace.com/wyliehunter . They share some of the same band members.
Also playing this show were The Toddlers, and SNMNMNM in a reunion show of sorts, with several invited friends joining them.
Definitely check http://www.nightlightclub.com for the schedule of outstanding music many nights of the week.
For URL's to lots of low-qual videos on Myspace and YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/betsybetsybetsy) that I've shot from groups who've played around Chapel Hill, visit the BLOG at http://www.myspace.com/betsyssmile . Also, as usual, you're welcome to post at no charge in photo albums on facebook, myspace, or reverbnation if no photo is altered and, of course, each photo carries a copyright credit. [Please let me know if you'd like to use any photo in any other way.] Hope you enjoy them!

| | copyright: temples of grey | - Luego, at Cat's Cradle
- (Aug 21, 2009)
- Luego played a benefit show at Cat's Cradle, August 21, 2009. -Posting a ton of photos, though I may come back and pare it down to 20-30. (hahaa, who am I kidding? i'm not likely to get back to these for quite some time!) In the meantime, go to http://www.myspace.com/luego , and start the player, set the photo viewing to slideshow, and enjoy their music.
Also, as usual, if you (friends, bands, individuals from bands, etc), would like to use photos on facebook, reverbnation, or myspace, you're welcome to as long as no photo is altered and, of course, each photo carries a copyright credit. [Please let me know if you'd like to use any photo in any other way.] Hope you enjoy them!

| | copyright: temples of grey | - Maserati, at Local 506, Chapel Hill
- (Sep 25, 2009)
- Tragic update, 11/08/09: http://bit.ly/1hWuS6 . (I'll post videos in a day or so from their show 6 weeks ago.)
Maserati (Athens GA; http://www.myspace.com/maseratirocks ) opened for MONO, from Japan. Incredible show! Here are photos from Maserati's set. They sorta' have a break in the sequencing toward the end, as we're picking up with an alternative camera I used.
Check blogs & other sections at http://www.myspace.com/betsyssmile for older catalogs of videos I've shot and posted from shows around Chapel Hill. If there are photos you'd like to post on facebook, myspace, or reverbnation, have at it; but please, of course, include the copyright credit with each photo. Please contact me for other uses.
