Indian Creek Culvert under American Tobacco Trail in Chatham County, NC
(Sep 8, 2007)
Photos of Panther Creek Culvert under American Tobacco Trail in Chatham County. NCDOT engineers have said this culvert needs to be replaced because of a sink or hole which on surface of trail some 20+ vertical feet above. However, this hole is over 160 feet north of these culverts. And rocks placed in this hole have remained in place instead of sinking into the hole. As you can see by these photos, the only damage to the culvert is on the west end or outlet of the culverts. There is no visible damage inside either of these culverts.

The only visible damage is to the western outlet of both of these culverts. Of these, the northernmost culvert has by far the most damage.
